Next, I hopped into my rental car and made my return trip to Sheri's. Last time I was there, I partied with Victoria and had a GREAT time. I noticed that she was on the schedule, so I was looking forward to catching up with her again. The trip to Pahrump was uneventful until the last mile. Just after Terrible's casino, I passed a county sheriff going the opposite direction and he pulls a U-turn and hits his lights. Nervously, I pull over to the side of the road. He asks me where I'm headed and I tell him Sheri's! He says I'm doing 54 in the 45 zone along Homestead and checks my license. I tell him it's a rental car and that I know the speed limit out there is 45. He brings back my license and says "I'm going to let you go this time, but watch your speed." He says, "Have Fun!" as I roll up my window. Jackpot #2! I knew it was my lucky night. My heart is racing, but I slowly drive the final mile to Sheri's and pull into the parking lot.

I figure that it would be good to just hangout in the bar for a while, so I enter through the Valley Inn Bar entrance. The place was pretty crowded with guys and to my dismay, there is not a single girl on the floor. They must be REALLY busy, or else low on girls tonight. I sit at a table near the jukebox to unwind and it takes me about 15 minutes to order up a beer. The bartender is moving at about 100 mph trying to get everyone's drinks. Finally, she gets to me and I move up to a seat at the bar. Glancing over to the end of the bar by the gift shop, I notice an elderly gentleman with a pile of notepads. Could this be the infamous "sportsman"? It could have been, but he seemed deep in thought by himself, so I chose not to disturb him. I scan around the room and there are a group of guys playing pool, groups of 2-3 guys in the booths, the stools around the bar filled with guys, and not a lady in sight. This seems strange to me.
